Clach Cycle is building up its leadership!

We are just a small team who met while working on bikes together, and in the last year we have achieved so much! It been hard work, and we could do with a hand!
Some highlights from last year:

  • We Set up a Community Interest Company
  • Ran free Community Bike Mechanic sessions across town
  • Developed a Cargo Bike Library
  • Ran Fix-Your-Own-Bike sessions
  • Drunk a huge amount of coffee
  • Made mistakes and learnt loads
  • Had a laugh with good pals
  • Furthered our dream of cycling equality for all in Inverness and beyond!

We are particularly interested in those who have a background in:

Financial Management
We are looking for someone to help with financial oversight and planning.

  • You might have experience devising and tracking budgets
  • You might have written funding applications
  • You are organised and have an eye for detail and numbers
  • You might have a background in Finance or Accounting (but not necessarily!)
    Previous trustee experience is welcome but not essential. We value curiosity, strategic thinking, lived experience, and a willingness to ask good questions.

Business Development
At Clach Cycle, we are looking to grow our social enterprise in order to generate general funds to use for community projects.

  • You might have experience running or working for a small business
  • You have an understanding of what it takes to develop a small, successful enterprise
  • You have ideas and energy to support development of our business plan.
    Previous trustee experience is welcome but not essential. We value curiosity, strategic thinking, lived experience, and a willingness to ask good questions.

Property
At the moment we are looking for a venue to host a permanent workshop to be able to increase our ability to do more activities.

  • You might have rented commercial units for other purposes
  • You might have led on property renovation/development
  • You might be a dab hand at DIY
  • You might have experience of doing a Community Asset Transfer

Commitment
The time commitment is approximately eight board meetings per year, with some additional involvement during key development phases, depending on interest and availability. Meetings are usually held during the day, with some flexibility and online attendance where possible. Reasonable, pre-agreed expenses can be reimbursed.
